Better question for someone who has stayed at WA. That said, I think it's a good thing they hired within their Maldives network

Hotel sent me a link with their final images, mostly on their website too. You can access them here too by doubling clicking on either "images" or "resort map and 2D villa"

They also sent me excursion list which I attached

No more water slide at kids club pool?

I noticed the real pic of the Kid's club pool did not include the previously superimposed water slide. Would be a bummer if this is true as my 7 year old was going to love it!

Data point: I have a five nite stay booked here in OCT on FNC's and points. A friend is traveling with us and booked a cash room. Asked about upgrading to a two bedroom. Was quoted 1497 USD ++ per night. AS his rate was 900 USD per nite for a over water one bedroom didn't take the upgrade.

its the equivalent of a points and money offer which is always a terrible deal. The 2 bedrooms are going for 9-10x the points per night as the 1 bedroom.

Why would anyone pay $900 a night when you and the wife can each open an Honors account and get silver status easily and buy 440,000 points during a 100% bonus sale for $2200 and then use those points for 5 nights = $440 a night?

They are talking about a 2 bedroom which is listed at $2000+ a night or 900k-1000k points per night. $1400 room rate plus $900 in an upgrade cost nightly.

Marriott's cash prices seem to be much better overall than Hilton's from what I've seen.

Press Release: Hilton’s Flagship Brand Makes Highly Anticipated Debut in the Maldives

Some new tidbits in here:

A key highlight of Hilton Maldives Amingiri is the six-bedroom Amingiri Residence, the ideal escape for larger groups of travelers looking for privacy in its truest sense. Set apart on a landscaped cove, the residence will welcome guests with its own arrival pier and a dedicated sundeck with uninterrupted 360-degree views of the Maldivian horizon when it debuts in November 2022.
Had not seen that previously reported anywhere

To celebrate the opening of Hilton Maldives Amingiri Resort & Spa, guests can enjoy a special opening offer when they book and stay between July 1 and September 30, 2022 for a minimum of four nights. The offer includes complimentary daily breakfast and return premium speedboat transfers. Hilton Honors members enjoy full points for their stay as well as 5,000 opening bonus points with this offer. Terms and conditions apply.
Not sure this applies to Award Bookings

Designed to immerse guests in nature’s wonders, the overwater pool villas are outfitted with stairs to lead directly to the island’s lagoon, and a hammock by the pool to enjoy the melody of waves; while beach villas feature direct access to sparkling white sand, a deck swing and a gazebo on the shore. All villas boast generously proportioned bathrooms with ocean-facing bathtubs, as well as indoor and outdoor rain showers that create a sense of relaxation.

New resort video
I have booked a stay at the Amingiri for later this month through points. They have just confirmed that the opening stay offer is NOT applicable for redemption bookings. Shame but looking forward to seeing how the hotel and service compares to other Maldives resorts.
