Amex Membership Rewards to Hilton Honors points bonus thru 31 Jan 2021

FYI. I'm not sure if this is targeted or not, but I just noticed I can convert 1000 AmEx Membership Rewards points to 2800 HH points through 1/31/21.

I have about 300k MR points that i have accumulated passively over the years, haven't used much lately and no longer accumulate since current employer keeps the points generated by corp card spending. It costs me $75 per year to maintain the MR account, and i am looking for an opportunity to get out of them at an attractive exchange rate so i can kill the account and save the $75. This offer gets close but not close enough, in part due to me already being long on HH points.

How exactly does it cost you money to keep a Membership Rewards account? None of my Amex cards carries a fee for that. Not the Everyday, not the Green and the premium cards definitely not.

That promotion has been around for a while and is actually a very decent conversion bonus. I've taken advantage of that last month by transferring out a small amount to HH in order to redeem an award.

I am not 100% certain but i think if you have a premium Amex account earning MR points you are exempt from the $75 MR annual fee. All i have for Amex now is Everyday with no annual fee, an HH card not linked to MR, and a PLT corporate card tied to a different MR account. So for my personal MR account i am subject to the annual fee.

This is a decent bonus, but not the best we’ve seen before. At this rate it’s a good floor for redemptions to get a good MR/c rate, and for expensive properties can be even better value

I really can’t complain about 11.2 pts/$ for groceries/restaurants.
