Hilton is taking over the hotel at Etihad Towers from Jumeirah and it will be called Conrad Abu Dhabi Etihad Towers.
I just checked the Hilton app and it can be booked from October 1. From 35,000 points or 713 AED (including taxes).
There will be another Hilton property in AUH soon - Hilton Yas Island is scheduled to open next year.

This is fantastic news. I visit AD often and there used to be several options, including the Corniche residences etc, but now nothing. I think there is a Hilton group hotel due to open on Yas Island, but that's not so great for me.
It looks like a great property, used to see it when staying at the old Hilton (now Radisson) just along the road.

Great news for Hilton but a blow for the Jumeirah Group! The Etihad Towers are an iconic location in Abu Dhabi.
At least Hilton will in the near future have both a leisure and business property in the capital. They have a massive presence in Dubai and relatively also in Ras al Khaimah, but the closure of their two properties in Abu Dhabi without an immediate replacement baffled me a while ago.

This is a very high quality property & maintained in very nice condition too (lets hope that continues). An excellent signing for Conrad & in a different league to Hilton's previous offerings in AUH.

Just found out about this. Haven't been travelling much. Excellent news. This is a tremendous hotel, a different vibe to some other Conrads perhaps. The Exec lounge under Jumeirah was insanely good, you could eat and drink there and not need anything else. Which I have done. Excellent gym also. No doubt they will adjust things down a little under Hilton, but it will still be a great option for Abu Dhabi

I'm staying there tomorrow night, and although I booked a very basic room using points, I've just found out that we have been upgraded to a Junior King Sea View Suite with access to the exec club. I will report back. I've chosen a room on the 55th floor!

I'm in the room now, and it's nice enough, but I can't say it has the wow factor of other suites I've stayed in. The pics on the website are pretty much it, so I can't work out how it has so many more metres squared than the other room types. Anyway, it's nice and I can' t complain as this was quite a generous upgrade for a points stay. The views are amazing.
I was told that the Exec Lounge was closed because of Covid, but that I can use Nahaam (the main restaurant) to receive complimentary bar snacks and happy hour. I haven't taken them up on this as I am going out shortly. (I should update my profile - I am actually HH Diamond by the way).
Annoyingly, they don't have valet parking at the moment because of Covid, which is quite weird because all the other hotels in AD have their valet parking open now. Maybe it's a Hilton directive? It added a good 20 minutes onto my check in though, as the car park was a bit of a trek from the main entrance - I had to go back out and down numerous ramps and then spend approx 10 mins driving through a huge basement parking/speed hump complex to get to the Conrad parking area. A minor irritation, but quite a surprising one given other hotels' policies.
There was a complimentary (I think?!) bottle of red wine in the room, along with a fruit basket and some chocolates.
