Possible to remove Hilton Gold from my account?
I never initiated a Hilton status challenge before. I'm currently a Hilton Gold through one of my credit cards. Is it possible to remove Hilton Gold and then initiate a status match/challenge to Diamond?

Which card is it? My guess would be if your card is the Surpass you would need to cancel the card as the status is inherently linked to the card. If it is the Amex Plat, you could contact Amex and see if they can unenroll you from the Hilton benefit. Not sure if any other card provides that status.

Either way, it can't hurt to call Amex and see if they will un-enroll you from the Hilton Gold benefit.

There is really little difference between Gold and Diamond. Guaranteed lounge access, rather than probable access. I've probably been upgraded more as a Gold than as a Diamond...
I also understand that the question might be hypothetical, but I also wouldn't do a Diamond challenge until early 2022. (assuming that the Gold status runs at least until March 2022)

Because then you would have Diamond from 2022 until March 2024, at a time when travel hopefully will have resumed with actual Diamond benefits (lounge, etc.) being provided.
Do the Diamond match now, and you would be Diamond until March 2022, the same as your Gold status.
