Hilton Honors today announced about policy exceptions for Greater China (Mainland, Macao, Hong Kong, and Taiwan).

Members whose status was going to be downgraded on March 31 will have it extended through March 2021, and those that qualified in 2019 will have it until 2022. Points expiry is also waived through the end of 2020.Note that Hilton Honors will process these extensions by March 31, 2020. The offer is valid for members whose address on file with Hilton was at any of the Greater China addresses as of February 19.

Notice of Hilton Honors Membership and Points Extension Policy

Hilton Group pays close attention to the prevention and control of pneumonia caused by new coronavirus. From now on, Hilton Honors will provide membership and points extension policies for members of mainland China, Hong Kong, Macao and Taiwan affected by travel plans:

• All members who have not reached the relegation standard in 2019 and will be downgraded on March 31, 2020 will have their current membership level valid until March 31, 2021.
• All members who have successfully reached the elite membership (diamond, gold, silver membership) relegation or promotion standards in 2019, the membership level will be extended to March 31, 2022.
• All Hilton Honors members in Mainland China, Hong Kong, Macau, and Taiwan: From now until December 31, 2020, points will not expire.

The above membership and points extension policies are only applicable to Hilton Honors members in Mainland China, Hong Kong, Macao and Taiwan, and apply to Hilton Honors Terms and Conditions. That's for status earned in 2019, and Hilton recognizes that they might be unable to re-earn it in 2020 due to travel restrictions. If earned in 2020, it would last until 2022, so that's what they're getting.
