I can also confirm that after upgrade from Ascend to Aspire on 10/10/18 I received Free Night certificate email on 12/12/18 and both credits - Airline and Resort ( card anniversary night was in August)... the fees were prorated.

It was an advanced payment / non-refundable rate - ANTHR DAY IN PARADSE. I think it was buy three nights get the fourth night free. Res made on 11/13, but not billed until 12/4. The actual travel isn't until April 2019. Hope that helps. Plus I hope the $250 resort credit posts in the next few days. Will update.
Now that is interesting! I was looking at that rate, Another Day in Paradise, at the Elara in Las Vegas and wondering if it would be credited. Another FTer above has been waiting for the regular credit for his or her stay for awhile now. Thanks!

Yes, that other FTer is me. I checked out of the Elara on Sept 22. I wasn't getting the credit.I called and called and was told they couldn't do anything until 12 weeks had passed. Chat was useless, they claimed they new nothing about resort credit! But I called again a few days ago and found a very sympathetic agent. He handled it manually and the credit appeared the next day. Yay.

Excellent! Well, if the date firms up, I could buy the ADIP rate, get $250 credited this member year, and since the trip isn't until next summer, after my anniversary, my charges at the hotel could be credited another $250. That would be great! I've never stayed at Elara, but it's close to my meeting place (PH) and the rates at Cosmopolitan have gone up. You recommend it?

Yes, it's a beautiful place. Bit of a walk to a casino PH, but it's all under cover. You walk the length of the Miracle Mile to get there. We stay at the Elara every year for the past five years. PM if you want more info..

Great DP dates. One of ours was upgraded early Nov with an anniversary date of early Dec, so we'll see if the free night posts for the upgraded year. The prorated AF has not been billed (likely won't as the upcoming statement will be past the anniversary date.). Both airline and resort credits already utilized.

May 9 - Ascend $95 renewal fee
Oct 12 - upgraded from Ascend to Aspire
Oct 24 - received $250 airline fee credit (charges were on Oct 20)
Nov 17 - received $32.16 resort credit (charge was on previous day)
Nov 21 - received $217.84 resort credit (charge was on previous day)
Dec 9 - Ascend $39.58 refund and Aspire $187.50 prorated fee
Dec 13 - email from Amex indicating free w/e night
Dec 14 - email from Hilton with free w/e night details

So, it seems I received the airline credit in 2018, the resort credit in the partial year and the free weekend night after my partial year prorated fee was billed.

I fully expect to be able use my $250 airline credit after January 1st, 2019, as well as the $250 resort credit and another free weekend night after my annual fee is billed in May 2019.

3rd night free prepaid domestic rate credited successfully, so it seems these promos tend to be billed by the hotel directly (I verified with them beforehand as well)

Have a question if anyone has had a similar experience. I am going to be in Orlando - NOT staying at a Hilton resort, but I will be golfing at Waldorf Astoria Orlando, and having drinks and lunch after golf in the clubhouse. If I charged the golf, lunch, and drinks to Hilton Aspire card, does anyone know for sure if I would get the $250 credit (bill will be over $250). Thanks.

As with everything related to this credit it depends on how the charge shows up. If it's charged as the Waldorf Astoria Orlando then you should get the credit. But if it's charged as "Golf Course XYZ" or "Restaurant XYZ" etc. then you won't get the credit.

I've played this course numerous times and all of my charges, pro shop and restaurant showed Waldorf Astoria. YMMV

It's a fun challenging course.

I have a question along these lines, if I upgrade a card originally opened in November of 2015 in February would the resort credit restart In the month of February of 2020 or November of 2019? Also has anyone been able to use the free weekend night at the playa del carmen all inclusive? I know typically the AI properties are excluded but the site doesn't list hilton playa del carmen as an excluded property. TIA

The resort list is included properties and Playa del Carmen appears on it. It is that simple.

this thread is about the resort credit. there is a separate thread about free weekend night certificates.
https://www.flyertalk.com/forum/american-express-membership-rewards/1890082-free-weekend-night-aspire-hilton-credit-card-not-honored.html

you are more likely to get an answer there, though the property has been a Hilton for less than two months so the data set is likely small.
