Hilton Service Charge? Higher % taxes and fees on hhonors vs OTA
 

Hi all,

Currently seeing the following on hilton.com:

Room Rate: $215.95
Taxes: $24.41
Service Charge: $28.07
Total: $268.44
Percentage taxes/fees: 19.55%

And on Agoda:

Room Rate: $192.78
Price ("Including Hotel tax and service fees"): $217.85
Percentage taxes/fees: 11.5%

Anyone know why the difference in taxes and fees? The service fee accounts for 10.15% of the cost on Hilton.com, so it doesn't perfectly account for the extra 8.05% in fees/taxes charged on Hilton.com vs Agoda

Seems like a BRG opportunity here

Careful, OTAs don't always disclose all taxes and fees.

Screenshots would be helpful.

As a matter of fact, I did get it matched under BRG! Inquiring about the difference in taxes and fees because I was disappointed that my final total was higher than expected due to bookings on Hilton.com appearing to charge a higher % of taxes/fees than Agoda.

Hilton rate was $217/night, $145 room rate after BRG but $180 after taxes/fees. Still happy to get the BRG but surprised to see Hilton charging more taxes/fees than OTA. I wonder if it's Hilton Corporate taking a cut?
