Do you get gold after 40th night or is there a time frame?

I'll be staying nights 39 to 50 this year from next week. Actually I'll be doing a 2 day stay first, where I'll reach my 40th night, and then several others up to 50th.
Am I right to assume upon checkout of the 1st stay, ie, 40th night this year, I'm automatically Gold from there on, and I can expect Gold benefits from the nights 41-50, or do I need to wait to year end and only then I will become Gold for next year?

Thanks gents

You get gold after you complete the whole stay that includes the 40th night and it posts to your account. therefore, if your 40th night is part of the same booking as your other 9/10 nights you won’t get gold until you complete the whole stay. I’d also suspect if it’s the day after you start your next stay you might not show as gold at checkin either as can take a few days to post / change.

Doesn’t really matter for you but for anyone else reading this if you were doing that number of nights an AMEX platinum card or if you’re in the USA one of the Hilton cards would’ve been a worthwhile investment.

Cheers for that! Cool. I do have an AMEX Platinum, but we in Spain don't get fancy perks (1 AMEX point per EUR, how bad is that? lol) I basically use it for Centurion lounges

After your 40th night posts to your account, you'll get Gold. Note it may take some time, give it a day or two.
Are you doing lots of 1-day stays? At 30th stay (different hotel between each stay) - you'll be Diamond.
Amex Platinum should automatically give you Gold without any stays ... may be different in your country, worthwhile to check.
Amex also has Surpass card that is $95 per year fee that gives you Gold automatically. Not sure if it's offered in your country.
