Combining Amex $100 offer and $250 Aspire resort credit

Hello all,
I have a stay at the Waldorf Astoria Rome property for four nights in Mar/April 2020. One night using free certificate for one room and points for the other, the next three nights we got the family connected room all on points.

Could I "pay ahead" before the September cut off to get the spend $500 get $100 back on the HIlton aspire card offer? If I do that will it also trigger my resort credit which I haven't used yet for the $250 back? I have confirmed that the WA Rome is a resort for that credit.

thanks!

This kind of question gets asked all the time over in the dedicated resort credit thread, and the answer always is it depends on the hotel. If you can get the hotel to charge you in advance, then it will trigger the Aspire $250 resort credit.

In your case, it's a little more difficult, as you dont have a paid rate, so you're essentially asking the hotel to bill you for incidentals in advance. I can see this being a tougher sell than asking the hotel to just charge you the room rate in advance, but who knows.

In any event, there's nothing we can suggest or you can do other than just call the hotel and see if they will charge you $500 in advance.
