Status benefits dep. on booking channel/rate type - do AAA rates give full benefits?
 

I know that I'm not eligible for all benefits like executive lounge access when booking through an OTA like Expedia.
But does it also matters what rate I chose when booking on hilton.com? E.g., I'm looking to make a reservation where the AAA rate is cheaper than the HHonors Flexible rate. If I book the AAA rate, will I still get full points and all benefits like upgrades, lounge access etc.?

If you book through Hilton you will receive full Honors points and benefits no matter what rate you book (assuming the rate doesn't have any specific limitations spelled out). I always book whatever is cheapest between AAA, AARP, MVP, Corporate code, etc.
