I had something similar at this same hotel in Aqaba. I thought it was a nice touch.

Remember that they're extreme on tips in Jordan. Most of the money that attendants get are from tips, so likely they're looking for a large tip.

well, you could make it a clean sweep and not let the money go down the drain by using the decoration (where suitably clean) for its intended purpose!
