Arrow Hilton Garden Inn London Heathrow Terminal 2 { GBR }

Just noticed this new addition to the Hilton portfolio, whilst I'm not overly familiar with the area I guess this will be handy for those using terminal 2.
No information yet on when opening, website just states coming soon.

Hi,

Many thanks for this wizla,!

There is some more information here;

https://hiltongardeninn3.hilton.com/...EGI/index.html

It says it is scheduled to open in Feb 2019 and is connected to the central terminals ( which means T2 and close to T3 ) in the central terminal area

Regards

TBS

I wonder if this portends any change to the status of the HGI near Hatton Cross.

Wow. That's quite the coup for Hilton - getting a hotel attached to the central terminals.

Why it's not a Hilton escapes me... they will certainly get a substantial pricing premium.

Would this give Hilton attached hotels at all LHR terminals? I believe there are attached hotels at T4 and T5. What about T1?

Hi,

T1 is no longer in use ( for years) and the airside areas have been demolished/being demolished and replaced by T2.

The attached hotel at T 5 is a Sofitel . The Hilton T5 is a few miles away ( by hotel hoppa bus)

HGI LHR Terminal 2 (new property)

Came across this beauty today, looks like it will be walkable from T2. Opening Feb 2019.

HGI = no lounge. This will save the hotel lots of money.

Hope they've improved since their Torquay days in the 1970s...

Ehh, no. I side with OP. Connection to the terminals will command a hefty premium with the core business traveler segment, far beyond what could be recouped with OpEx reductions absent a lounge. However, branding as a property that is not full-service will give these customers pause and will probably result in a nontrivial number of lost sales.

Eh, I don't know about that. As a "business traveler" if I am staying at a hotel attached to an airport terminal, I'm most likely arriving late and/or departing early, and am only there for one night. Convenience and a good bed is what matters - not "full-service" amenities which I won't use.
