Has there been a points increase?

Hampton by Hilton at Corby has doubled in points from 10,000 to 20,000

This has only just happened. No warning

Any other hotels had a big increase?

Not the first time this has happened, neither will it be the last. This is the future of the hilton program after they removed categories.

Doubletree by hilton Johor bahru 10,000 > 20,000
Doubletree by hilton Melaka 10,000 > 19,000

So has every single UK property except the Hampton Newport, which is the last remaining 10k property.

Yeah whilst it appears to be 16k on Sunday nights it's 20k at other times, definitely used to be 10k....... ironically I'm in Corby next Saturday......slight chance I may stay over.

Just looked at Istanbul, while they were four 5K hotels, now only 1 left. All the others at least 10K now

It happened to number of hotels in lowest categories, the same in Poland and Turkey.

Salalah was 5k this year. We were there in March 2018 when it doubled to 10k.
Glad I made a 3 week booking last February for a stay in January 2019 for 85k.

Clearly a table of point redemptions exists, and therefore it should be published along with changes when they occur. I strongly dislike the secrecy of these changes.

Especially bad to double all the UK 10000 point hotels without warning just days after promoting the sale of points, points that are now worth a lot less than I previously valued them.

What's the likelihood of getting a refund on a points purchase? Any prior experiences?

From Head For Points
https://www.headforpoints.com/2018/0...t-redemptions/
As of last week, there were six UK hotels – I think – which cost 10,000 Hilton Honors points per night:

Hampton by Hilton Liverpool / John Lennon Airport
Hampton by Hilton Newcastle
Hampton by Hilton Newport
Hampton by Hilton Corby / Kettering
DoubleTree by Hilton Sheffield Park
Hampton by Hilton Sheffield

SIX OF THEM now have a maximum price of 20,000 Hilton Honors points per night. They will be cheaper than 20,000 points on nights when the room rate is under circa 65. Newport is the only one still showing at 10,000 points.

The Doubletree at Newcastle Airport was already at 20000 points by 30th August.

Lots of ups in China too. Must be a planned increase following the 100% bonus points sale!
