i searched around youtube and googled, there is a regular passenger boat that ferries locals/expat and tourists every 30 minutes. Locals pay 160 MV while tourists pay USD 44

regret

We just checked in here after a few nights at the Sheraton and are immediately regretting our choice. This is hands-down the most disappointing Hilton property we’ve ever stayed at. We are trying to return to the Sheraton which is way better, or else go home early.

Anyone got any information about the dinner bed and breakfast option?
Considering this property for a stay later in the year.
Any more recent reviews/comments?

Agree with the previous poster; please elaborate, because this is really disturbing, given that the Sheraton is supposedly a dump.

back home now and tired just thinking about it. it was impossible to really disconnect. problems with plumbing in room. not all but many guests boisterous and razed buffet like animals. staff are nice but too inexperienced to solve anything, cut my foot on metal shard on beach. all rooms are smoking rooms. no toilet paper in public bathroom for 3 days running. beach was college spring break scene. food is priced for a 5-star resort but it's more like champagne mcdonalds. tom yam italian thai fusion restaurant is disgusting. a great advertisement for the sheraton, which we weren't thrilled about at first but then missed desperately after serving time at the hilton. sorry for rambling.

I just booked 5 nights using points in the end of Feb 2020. Share some info here.

Below is eStandby cost from Sky Room (per night excluding tax):
to Beach Villa - $88
to Over Water Villa - $188
to Two Bedroom Beach Villa - $480

Note that the hotel confirm eStandby has to go with the entire booking stay.

Also, they provided guarantee upgrade cost from Sky Room to Over Water Villa for $517.44 tax inclusive and can be done for partial night.

We went there end of Oct 2019. Received and eventually got eStandby upgrade from Sky Room to Water Villa at $150 per night. Now it is so expensive to upgrade!

Besides I just booked another trip in Feb, didn't receive eStandby upgrade email. It seems now I don't have the option to do so... Don't know why

Snorkeling off the beach?

Curious to book this or the Hard Rock, but going to Maldives for snorkeling and ideally looking for some off the beach snorkeling when we're too lazy to go out on a speedboat.

Anyone know if either this SAii Lagoon hotel or te Hard Rock Hotel has good snorkeling off the beach? Presume not as its all a new complex?

FYI due to coronavirus, Maldivian airline canceled my flight from Bangkok to Male, thus no more beach/sunshine in the end of Feb.
