Deep Thought for Tonight
If you spend 3 nights in 3 separate HIs in 3 different cities and the rooms are absolutely identical...have you gone anywhere ?

I have to take a picture of the room number since everything starts to blur together and you can't even remember what floor you are on.
Its like when you have to hit the lock button on the key fob to your rental car so it will chirp in the hotel parking lot because you can't remember which brown sedan is yours.

You can tell you've spent too many nights in hotels when you ask for floor 5 in a building that only has four because that's where you stayed a few nights before in a different hotel !!!!

I usually joke with the desk clerk that I want a view of the beach. Once, the clerk responded that I could see the beach from my room and to call him if I was having problems. It was in Iowa, middle of Illinois or somewhere like that. I got to the room, and looked out the window just in case, nothing but corn field. So, I called the front desk. He said for me to stand in the middle of the room and face the TV. He then asked me to look just to the left of the TV and what did I see. "The in-room coffee maker." He said, "That is Hamilton Beach." I thanked him for the chuckle.

I can't tell you how many times I've tried to get into my room, only to remember that the room number I"m trying was actually from a few nights before. I started marking the DND hanger with a very small "x" or placing a post it note on the door or a piece of paper slightly sticking out from under the door during a bad spell a few years ago. Thankfully no one has called security on me, but I'm sure I had some concerned people staring at me through the peephole.
