Have you asked for a quote for your travel dates? If you have not, then it might explain why they are not talking about a 2-category upgrade. If you have and there was no mention of upgrades, then it might be that they are already over 100 guests who booked?

Good news. They never offered me the upgrade, but after seeing it here I inquired. They said I still qualified. So it never hurts to ask.

They already are over 100. If you have already emailed them, look in the subject line and you will see [MLEONxxx]. With the "x" being a number. Mine was over 100.

Please specify taxes when posting rates
Guys, can we please specify whether rates are inclusive or exclusive of all taxes. Then I can paste them into the wiki. Cheers.

Conrad on a good sales promotion could be booked for US$400++ per night or less.

Rangali has gone for $347++ (just last year). Irufushi was about that for a base WV when it was still a Hilton. I think Rangali is going to hike their rates considerably after they have re-done all the BVs and renovated or even replaced the OWVs on Rangali Island. I think the good times will be over as far as cash rates are concerned. How will a Conrad with almost all new hardware remain so cheap in comparison to the WA? I take a stab in the dark and say $650-800++ for BV in low season 2020.

QQ for those on the forum. I know it is just speculation at this point, but do you think the cash difference between different room types is likely to be the cost to upgrade from a base points stay? (e.g., $200++ to upgrade from a beach villa points stay to a Reef Villa)

Good find! Thanks for posting. Interesting comment by AJ on Jan 11 about most bookings being in points and that the cash amount listed is only to make us feel good about our redemptions. This makes a ton of sense in theory, but does anyone have any other supporting evidence / thoughts about this?
Also as a side note, isn’t it really funny how the blogger from the link just basically took our conversation and details from this thread (e.g. specific pricing for WA Maldives vs CM and our numbers for festive season / base rates) and made an article out of it for clicks / credit card referrals / cash
Flyertalk really does serve as the content hub for all travel bloggers, maybe they should send us a share of those royalties so we can use it to fund our trips to the Maldives
