saw that too. It wasn't like that at first. Don't know what happened. It would be.... interesting.

The resort is big enough to accommodate a few redemption guests each night; plus all guests will be nickle and dime'd anyway so it will work out for them in the scheme of things.

Should we expect this hotel to be a notch above or below St.Regis? Or on par?

Not sure about StR comparisons, but the terra treetop dining renders alone are enough to me make me want to go there asap!

Anyone have experience if award nights are made immediately available when the booking calendar opens?

I agree, but dining is not exactly a weak point of St.Regis. The breakfast is the best I have seen of all Starwood/Marriott hotels, and dinner at Decanter and/or beach private dinner are worth the visit as well. So Waldorf will have their hands full competing in terms of dining with St.Regis.

I've not spotted this before at the bottom of the WA page:-
"This hotel will soon be joining the Hilton Portfolio of Brands but is not yet accepting reservations. It is scheduled to open in March 2019. Opening Date: Sun Mar 31 00:00:00 CDT 2019"

I received this email from them : "We have currently pushed our opening date to March 2019 as we want to ensure that we present a complete product to our guests ensuring True Waldorf Service.
We are comfortably accepting offline reservations for stays starting from 10th April 2019."

Hmm if only I didn’t mind the 100$ overseas phone bill calling in to make a dummy reservation right now would cost. Guess I’ll do it from office lol
