Not every promotion can satisfy every person.

I like this one - but I do a good number of 1 night stays.

YMMV

If one is staying with a spouse or partner why not check-in/check-out each day, swapping, to maximise the promo?

Perfectly legitimate.

I'm on the flipside.

I have 11 reservations booked for the next 14 nights. Both properties are within 2 miles of each other, so I'm mattress hopping.

That's 2,000/stay x 11 stays = 22,000 bonus points in addition to 10,000 (5th stay) + 10,000 (5th stay) = 42,000 bonus points across 11 nights before the 12 points/dollar on the Amex card. Can't complain about that!

and if the properties are Hilton, Conrad or Doubletree(probably also WA) 1000 extra points per stay(night in this case).

All of that for 42,000 points. Even if you give them a value of 0.005 that is a ton of jumping around for $210 of rewards. The 12 points on the AMEX are going to happen whether it is one stay for 14 night or the 11 you mention.....so non-factor

Eh, no big deal to me. HHonors is a transactional loyalty program. Earn and burn.

If I did 11 nights over 1 stay, I'd only get 2,000 bonus points and be marginally closer to Diamond status for 2019. I'm OK with packing/unpacking 11 times to get an extra 40k points and be 1/3rd of the way done with earning Diamond status by mid-February. 40k points is essentially a free-night certificate good at most properties.

Well, I have been busy and did not check. The 250 points + the 2000 posted - much later than the stay.

I am loving this, as I am fabricating excuses for one night stay fishing trips here and there in FL for places that would be uncomfortably long drives. There is always a $100 Hampton, Doubletree, HGI, or Hilton somewhere.

The goal is hoarding points to burn for a southeast/Keys high end property.

11 stays so far on this promo. 42000 on the promo has almost doubled what I would have earned without it.

I too am a mattress hopper. I had Diamond even without the Aspire, but now that I have it my stays are for points only.

I slightly preferred the 3x promo for Diamonds but this isn't bad I suppose. Better than Hyatt's 0 promo....

Hi, new member but have been lurking a while. Great site and kudos to all that make this site great.

Regarding this current promotion, I know it has been asked a few times, on whether incidental spent is required. Some reported yes, some reported no.
Just wanted to share my experience. So far I've always spent something on my reward night, just to be sure I get the points. During my last stay, I charge for something but when the points posted, I got the bonus points and myway points but no points from the incidental spent (stayed at double tree). Now it makes me wonder, maybe incidental spent for reward night is not required for the bonus points to post? Anybody else has any experience?
