Question about booking upgraded room with points
While I'm looking at different Hilton hotels, I noticed in some hotels, it costs so much more points to book an upgrade room than the basic room while there is very few price difference on cash price.
For example, I saw these prices in a hotel: 1 King bed: $189 or 45000 2 Queen beds: $199 or 48000 1 King bed deluxe room: $209 or 76000 Isn't 76000 way too much for the King bed deluxe room? It's just $10 difference in cash price but 28000 in points. |
As you have observed, whatever semblance of "controls" applies only to standard room awards. The rest are up to the discretion of the property. For what's worth, I also come across upgraded rooms at a discount against standard rooms too.

Points prices are based on the flexible rate. Are your prices for the flexible rate or the prepaid rate?
