Diamond challenge went south quickly
Any HHonors lurkers on here?
Absolutely amazes me how badly Hilton handled their Diamond status match to my Starwood Platinum. I was Diamond for one whole day before my account went back to Gold - and their call center agents don't want to or cannot fix it.
The email plainly states, "We’ve matched your status to Diamond! Just be sure to complete 8 stays over the next 90 days to extend your status match through March 31, 2018." And I have a screen shot of the HHonors app showing Diamond - for one day, then it went back to Gold.
The call center says that I will only be Diamond AFTER I complete 8 stays, but that's not what I read. Can anyone help me out here? I've already completed 2 stays and have a third coming up and would really like Diamond perks.

If the OP matched through this, then it clearly states that you get Diamond for the first 90 days. https://hiltonhonors.hiltonapps.com/

I matched SPG Platinum to Diamond 23rd January and I have stayed Diamond since, not Gold. I currently at 6 stays so I'll hit the magic 8 stays the week after next to convert from 90-day Diamond to March 2018 Diamond.
I did have some problems submitting evidence and this was resolved by emailing [email protected]

Yep, it changed when they changed the status match to a status challenge. You get the status straight away and then only get to keep it if you complete the required number of stays.
Pretty sure it it used to be you completed the stays then got the status.
I quick PM to Lauren should fix it for the OP.

Thank you Lauren, my status is back to Diamond. Can the two stays be fixed to give me the diamond points that I should have received from my original Diamond upgrade?

Hey guys,
Chronological order of events and appreciate any input:
Have an existing Diamond account valid thru 2018 via match last year.
1. Emailed Hhonors desk enquiring about further extension to 2019 with Marriott Plat status
2. Desk responded by suggesting to submit via status match website
3. Submitted match and received success upgrade email with Diamond valid till May 17. Effectively a downgrade.
4. Emailed same Hilton rep again to assist
Anyone experienced something similar or successful in getting extension to 2019 upfront without stays requirement?
Cheers

Thanks. That's what I was led to believe, but haven't yet received a reply back from Hilton to my inquiry about this. I won't worry too much about it, since it looks like I have an another stay coming up that I didn't know about a few days ago, and will then have enough stays in the "paid" category, anyway.
