How will standard room rewards be affected by the changes?

As we make this transition on Standard Room Rewards, each hotel's maximum Points price is NOT increasing.

For example, today a Standard Room at Category 10 hotels maxes out at 95,000 Points per night. Once the new Points & Money program launches, those hotels will continue to top out at 95,000 Points, and may sometimes be priced lower than the previous category range.
Will I earn bonus points on the cash portion of Points & Money bookings?

Points & Money stays booked under the current system are subject to the current Terms & Conditions of the program - therefore, you would not be eligible to earn Points on the cash portion of the stay.
Although the HonorsRepresentative stated in Feb 2017 that 'you can rest assured about the value of your Points. Ditto, almost - we'd planned to do the "farthest out" awards in June for a popular hotel we've been saving points for. Well, I had been saving points for, and then with pooling, DH applied for a new CC, with a fee I might add, to get the bonus points on initial spend.

I'll wait until Lauren officially announces something on the matter. I've come across quite a bit of clueless Hilton reps before while calling.

They MAY push it through for you. Being recently married we bought at the Hilton Club in NYC a couple months ago. At the time of purchase they allowed us to rolled the points from both our accounts into one.

Points Pooling Launch

Hi all,

At Hilton, we aim to deliver the best new benefits and features to our Hilton Honors members. We are really excited to be the first in the hotel industry to launch Points Pooling at no cost to members, and because this is a new product, we want to ensure a seamless user experience for this new benefit. We’re now testing and refining the online experience, and will share an update on the launch of Points Pooling next week.

Thank you!
Lauren

NOW they are testing and refining. Yes, I know they said April but seriously I am going to be even more disappointed with this program than I already am if this doesn't come about in the next 9 days.

They were quick enough to have the majority of hotels I book go up in award cost. This was once a great program.

I've pooled Marriott points for free for several years...? SPG too... (this is just with my spouse, will H's be with anyone? maybe that's the difference?)

But it's good that Hilton wants to make sure it's working correctly.

From the OP:

Starting this April, members can combine or “pool” their Hilton Honors Points with family and friends on future award stays. We’re doing away with the previous transfer fee, so it will be completely free for a Hilton Honors member to pool their Points with up to 10 family members and friends to get to more vacations together, faster.
I really only have the need to pool with my wife. I have done that with SPG, Club Carlson and Hyatt for years.

We're working out a few bugs still. Hope to have it up this month.

Yes, so why is Lauren saying Hilton will be the first to do it for free??

I also don't understand their use of the word "pooling" rather than "transferring", which all the others use...if we need 100,000, and I have 50k and my husband has 50k, we transfer to his account because he has higher status, and make the reservation from there.

"Pooling" implies being combined into one...but under whose name/status then?

In other words " the launch of this feature will be delayed again "

It's possible that it would run like JetBlue where there's one head person and all points go to their account ab initio (?) - that is what I would call "pooling" as opposed to "transferring" but it does not sound like what HH had in mind.
