Not the greatest video, but the Lago di Como sundeck is now open for the season. Spettacolo bellissimo!

Nice view!

I'll be in Como in April but prices are awfully high - 2x what I have booked at the Sheraton.

I've got a 3 night reservation in late April made before rates escalated.

BTW website now says: Please note that Terrazza 241 Cocktail Bar & Dining, the rooftop sundeck will open on the 22nd of March 2018. The rooftop pool will open last week of April or first week of May, depending on weather conditions.

I don't get the excitement - tiny cramped pool surrounded by buildings with some very distant lake/mountains... What's the appeal?

You don't understand because you are from Los Angeles. The excitement is about building plans actually being completed in Italy. Just like, say, they would open a new Curio near LAX and it would have an ocean view rooftop deck and a bar - and the City would issue a liquor license within a year.

Judging by the video, it doesn't look like many, if any, rooms have lake views. Can someone shoot a picture out their window?

$467 or 80,000 point in Lake Como

I would like some advice. Should I use 80,000 for one free night in Lake Como or pay the retail rate of $467.
This would deplete my account but I'm mainly a Hyatt and Starwood/Marriott customer anyway.
I know there is Sheraton there too but I thought this would be an opportunity to deplete my stray Hilton points. That said, I don't want to waste them if this is a horrible value.

Not an incredible value, but I think redeeming for anything over .5 cents per point is decent.

You can find local hotels and airbnb for prob half the price and likely in better location.
