Being Charged Twice During Reservation
Possible newbie question here.
I booked three Japan-based hotels for next month directly with Hilton. The final page before confirmation said something about a 'deposit' equalling the value of the room being charged immediately. Okay, I thought, I was just pre-paying the room.
But, two of the three hotels have authorised an amount equal to the stay to my card, and then, the next day, charged me the same amount again (although slightly different due to currency fluctuations). So I've now paid for the rooms but still need to float double the amount on my credit card until the authorisations disappear.
Is this normal?
