Was looking at the Hilton Garden Inn New York/Manhattan-Midtown East aon the MVP site and saw this - no extras in the 2x points package thought this was weird.

So, what is the question? Without seeing ALL the details, it is hard to say.


I would also not be surprised on some rates were updated, and some are "older" rates and therefore not make as much sense.

The asterisk typically means that the rate changes during the stay. As NoStressHere pointed out, without seeing all the details it is impossible to tell anything.

Maybe the question is why the 3x points rate is cheaper than the 2x rate.

There has been some weirdness with the Hilton site. I was looking at Costa Rica hotels, and somehow, the points for the premium rooms were lower than the regular room rate. (~21000 points for a premium room vs 30000 points for a regular room).

I suspect the BAR in the above was USD 200?
My experience is that the triple points is a targeted promo but the Double points is opened for any HHonors members. Keying in the promo code will pull out the triple point rate but you will likely not get the bonus points.
