As of March, Paris was still in. However, they are a Park Place property, so you get points but no additional benefits as a Gold. They only give an upgrade/breakfast if you are a diamond member.

I ran into a problem a few years back that I wonder if anyone else ran into.

I got a $12.00 promotional room voucher at the Flamingo, but they would not give me the standard 500 hilton miles and airline miles.

I tried to argue, but it was to no avail.

Did anybody ever use this promotional cheap room and get the Hilton standard double bonus?

In November of last year I stayed at the Paris Las Vegas Hilton in order to qualify for the double double program at that time. I recieved my bonus miles via double dip as well as the qualifier 4k for 4 stays. This was with a stay that I booked directly from a promo that the hotel had sent me (via letter)and not with any Hiltons associated program (not thier website or Hilton line). They even upgraded me to a nice suite but at that time I was Diamond (does this mean as Gold I don't get it? **** they were nice rooms with jacuzzi, in-room printer, and all!)

Hope this helps!

I used to stay at the Flamingo a lot. I never used the $12 voucher you refer to, but sometimes when I had a similarly discounted promotional type rate the Flamingo would deny the FF miles because the rate was so low. I didn't argue with them, since the rate was awfully low and it didn't appear that the issue was negotiable. I did get points, however. It was more important to me that it counted as a stay toward HH status, so I didn't worry about the miles.

Also, I noticed yesterday when I did a search on Las Vegas at hilton.com that the Flamingo no longer comes up as on option. The Grand Vacations Club (or whatever it is) at the Flamingo comes up, but not just the Flamingo itself. The LV Hilton still comes up, but I didn't see Paris or Bally's. Could be a sign of things to come...

Back in the early 90's, the Flamingo Hilton LAUGHLIN used to give both points and miles for even their ridiculously low $12 midweek rates.

They stopped doing that later in the mid-late 90's and insisted that the rate had to be above a certain level for points on both midweek and weekend rates..Haven't been back too much since they started doing that; so it cost them business by that decision there..

If nothing but Hilton Grand Vacations Club and LV Hilton are on the booking website, then everything else (Paris, Bally's, Flamingo) have probably dropped out now. Stupid decision by somebody..being off the Hilton website will surely cut down on the number of bookings at those hotels..same with not being able to book thru 1-800-Hiltons..

I made a reservation at the Las Vegas Hilton at 60 $ through HRN. Do you think I will get miles and points ?
May I expect an upgrade as Gold there ?

(May expect to win at the slot-machines too ? )

See my point above re " Hilton account screwed up.
Yes you will get points I had a $59.00 stay there in December.
Not sure how you they will treat Gold members since I my stay was in conjunction
with a 3 day free New Years stay as a casino guest. As a casino guest, my entire stay including the New Years party was complimentary. I stayed a total of 5 days with the 3 day stay as the three middle days, got points and miles for the 1st and 5th day. They gave the same suite for all 5 days.

I got upgraded to a garish honeymoon suite as a Gold at the Las Vegas Hilton last year by asking nicely at check-in.

Flamingo is no longer a "Hilton" and Bally's and Paris never were.

QuietLion -- I hate to say that (I know you're an expert on Las Vegas), but you're incorrect. Both Bally's and Paris used to be Hilton properties. I even remember booking a special on-line deal for Bally's at Hilton's web site about three years ago.

Ballys and Paris are still 'Hilton' properties and I received points for a room
(actually for my mother, since I stayed as a casino guest)in May/June 2000.
The Hilton/Park Place structure has Ballys and Paris operating as almost one entity. If you remember shortly after Park Place was split off from Hilton Hotels they bought the casino operations of Starwood which included Ballys, Paris and Caeaser's Palace.

I also mentioned in another thread that I spoke to a supervisior at Hilton Honors today who told me even though you can now book ONLY the LV Hilton of all the Hilton properties in Vegas, at their website, members will still get points.
Forgot to ask if they will still recognize Gold or Diamond though.

Maybe a few years ago, Hilton spun off their casino properties (Flamingos as well as Reno, Atlantic City, and Las Vegas [LVH] Hiltons) into a separate publicly traded corp known as Park Place Entertainment (PPE).Not long thereafter, PPE acquired Ballys and Caesars, and began to build Paris.

So these haven't really been true Hilton properties for some time. But Barron Hilton owns a chunk of both corps, and remains active at the casinos. (I met him at the Reno property last year.) He recently moved his office back to the LVH. (He had left when PPE was in the process of selling the LVH, but that deal fell through.)

In any event, PPE and Hilton do seem to be diverging (i.e. it's no longer the Flamingo Hilton, just the Flamingo.)The LVH is still a nice old classic casino. I'd rather be there than on the strip. As for rates, give them some action, and they'll comp your room or even food etc. (You can tell you're gambling too much when they put you in one of the multi thousand sq. ft. suites on the 30th floor with a provate butler etc. etc.)

I think it's fair to say that while Ballys and Paris are Hhonors hotels (for the time being?), they are certainly not Hilton. Flamingo is now neither (at least according to the "assistant general manager" I spoke to on Tuesday).

My stay at the Las Vegas Hilton has already posted to my account as follows:
Las Vegas Hilton 3-Apr-2001 4-Apr-2001 Points: 1,245 Miles: 500 Folio: $79.63

Vegas Questions

I have a few questions about Vegas Hiltons.
I will be in Vegas for 3 weeks.

10 days at the Las Vegas Hilton.

1. Is there free breakfast for gold here?
2. Will they give spa passes to use the gym?
3. Do they have a towers or hhonors floor/lounge ?

I will also be at the Flamingo 6 days.. is this still a hilton?
Will I still get points for staying here?
and if so same questions as above

1. Is there free breakfast for gold here?
2. Will they give spa passes to use the gym?
3. Do they have a towers or hhonors floor/lounge ?

Ok Final Part I will be at the DoubleTree
5 Days and I got a rate of 24.00 a night through priceline.com will I be able to earn points from this type of stay?

Also same q's as above.

Thanks a ton!

We stayed in Flamingo a few month back. There is no Excutive floor no complimentry breakfast either. When we were there, we did get into the spa with Gold card and roon key. We finally received points for the stay after 16 emails and mailed in receipts for four times to HHonor. The hotel itself has very bad attitude towards Hilton program. They claim they are not part of Hilton any more. However HHonor stated the contract is still in place. If I were you, I would email HHonor to make sure.

Good luck and enjoy your stay at the great rate you find!
