I like Karen Ave. I always chose that property though becuase it's the cheapest and ahve been staying there since the LVH ceased their Hilton affiliation.
I like that the pool is open until 10. It is nice to go for a swim after getting to the hotel after a long flight. Monorial is a short walk or if you are driving plenty of parking directly in front of the HGVC.
The one thing I don't like is that they don't upgrade there so make sure to book the room type you really want. I realize that isn't a benefit of HGVC, but it sounds like the Elyra upgrades gold and diamonds. I have never had a problem with a 1 p.m. late checkout. The other thing I don't like is that you used to get unlimited bottled water. Now they give you a voucher to use in the deli for two bottles, but last stay I asked if they had bottled water at the front desk and the clerk gave me a couple extra coupons.

I just spent three days at the Elara with my two tweenish kids: they loved the giant tv-wall in the suites, lots of room, access to "mall" shops without having to expose them to a casino (smoke, smut, etc.).
The pool is quiet, although shallow and not much fun compared to, say, the Flamingo.
I also stay at the HGVC Flamingo - again, quiet, access to main corners of strip to go march kids to see Bellagio fountains, Paris, without too much hassle.
Neither has breakfast, whereas the Embassy Suites behind the strip is good for room/eats/pool aspects of a family stay. (I stay there a lot too).
TDM (who, every time, remembers the Vegas strip is no place for kids...)

Hi,
I stayed at the Karen Avenue HGVC for 5 nights ( 6-11 September).
I was in 425 ( 1 bedroom suite)
It was a very nice suite ( the washer dryer was nice ( and cheaper than the hotel laundry)
I walked to the buffet at the LVH for breakfast three time ( at the weekend when the prices were higher I just had cereal and juice, coffee and a danish)
The monorail at the LVH is just a few minutes away by walking and I used it to go to the MGM then walk the strip.
The pool was nice ( smaller than the HGVC on the strip) and never felt too crowded and the fitness centre was ok ( again smaller than on the strip)
Regards

Hilton Property at Las Vegas?
I am thinking to spend the Thanksgiving at Las Vegas. What strip hotels offer Hilton HHonors points and Elite Qualyfying nights? I know LVH is no longer Hilton property, and Elara is probably a reasonable choice. But, is there any other place you would recommend?
When LVH was a Hilton property, the room rates was as low as $49 a night with Free Breakfast (Gold Status). Is there any strip hotel that honor the Hilton Gold?
I knowq the HGI in south and hampton Inn on north, but they are too far off the strip.
Thanks.
Tintin

Hi,
There is the Hilton Grand Vacations Club on the strip ( between the riviera and the stratosphere)
Also there is the HGCV by the Convention center ( Karan avenue) beside the LAs Vegas Hotel ( formerly the hilton) and the monorail to take you to the strip.
Not sure about upgrades but there is a lot of information on the Hilton Forum
There are also the Embassy suites ( one near the convention center not too far from the strip and one closer to the airport)
Regards
TBS
PS Las Vegas is one place I prefer to stay on the strip unless over a weekend when the strip prices can be sky high compared to the hilton ( as I spend a lot of time on the strip looking through the hotels/casinos it makes sense to stay close to the strip)

Hi! Thanks very much. I am looking at the HGVC at Convention Center. It could work, but as you said, it is a bit off the strip. It is really strange that there is no Hilton Hotel in Las Vegas!!!

Since Hilton questions are more aptly asked in the Hilton forum, and since you've gotten some good references in the previous post (a search in the Hilton forum will give you lots of other possibilities too), I am going to send it to the Hilton forum where they moderators there can decide how they wish to treat it.

Because this is a general inquiry as to Hilton HHonors properties in Las Vegas, the discussion has been merged into this thread.

This came up on the HGVC mobile site when I went looking for more information on this deal
http://m.hiltongrandvacations.com/Ex...0/Default.aspx
It says will be available to owners in 2014, don't know if this suggests or not that HGVC will not rent rooms on a nightly basis.
