Favorite Doubletree?

I have been granted a couple of Be My Guest certs for Doubletree. The only Doubletree I was planning to visit in the next year is the one in Beijing, which is only 10,000 points per night, so it seems like a waste to use them there.
So I guess that means they are forcing me to travel some more this year :p
If you had them, where would you use them?

Malaysia - Kuala Lumpur and Johor Bahru are also very nice and modern, but also 'cheap'

Fess Parker in Santa Barbara is an increasingly very tired property in an outstanding location. Worth considering for free.

I ended up staying elsewhere in San Antonio last month, but I wanted to stay at the Emily Morgan - it looks really cool and it's right across the street from the Alamo...

Domestically, how about the DT Suites Times Square, Arctic Club Seattle, or theWit (which is technically a DT)?

Try the Seychelles...

Having been to DT Beijing, I find the lounge pretty good. Breakfast however in the downstairs restaurant is like a zoo, full of rowdy groups of tourists.

DT Kuala Lumpur gets my vote.

The service at DT Johor Bahru is very friendly.

Dar es Salaam was an interesting property, not very Doubletree-like (definitely more of a resort), and I was treated well there, but I'd be hard-pressed to recommend.

The DT Kuala Lumpur is very nice but it is only a cat 2 property. If I had the certs, I would take them to the DT London Westminster.

It's got "character", as they say about non-cookie cutter properties. Good breakfast buffet downstairs free for diamonds (maybe Golds, don't know), rooms big, decor very Texas, elevators a bit slow, neat lobby, valet painfully slow (call down ahead!). Walking distance from all things San Antonio, but then again so is the nice Home2Suites and Embassy I've also stayed at.

The Seattle DT - didn't care so much for that one. Dead area of town, perhaps a bit sketchy, even. Room walls thin. "Character" leaned a bit to the "eccentric". Older feeling but not in a good way. Shower weird, water all over bathroom floor, slippery. No upgrade, no view other than some street dwellers across street that were noisy. Lobby quaint and cool, but had no reason to lounge around in that area. Breakfast down in a restaraunt outside of the building, sort of, felt like a totally different arrangement like you were given vouchers to a place down the street. That said, excellent food.

Hotel Maya in SoCal kind of interesting, pluses and minuses, but they treated diamonds well. Great breakfast buffet. Nice pool and facilities. They sent up gratis smores kits for the kiddos to hit the fire pits there on the beach surrounded by little couches and chaise/tanning cabanas. Cool vibe. Rooms good bit a little weird, but again: character!

Thank you for all of the suggestions. At this point, we have a 20+ hour connection in Chicago on our way home from Hong Kong in June, so I think maybe we might go into the city and try theWit.

Good choice. It's a nice property and a great location. Rates should be pretty high that time of year too, so good use of a cert IMO.

I would suggest that you make your reservation soon, as there may be a risk that some of the boutique DT's could be reflagged as Curio Collection hotels.

Doubletree Suites downtown Boston Cambridge

The DT Boston downtown Cambridge is all-suites, is on the Charles River, and provides complimentary shuttle service around downtown.

I am really rooting for the conversion of a hotel in Hilo, HI to the DT brand soon though :)

That's a good one as well. Stayed there most recently a couple weeks ago. Former ES hard product, with a refurb of at least the common spaces a year or two ago. Can be a good value at times as Boston hotels in general are often insanely expensive.
