Are resort charges waived on points and money stays?

I just spent 30 minutes searching for a clear answer. I've always had them waived on all points stays but I cannot remember what has happened with points and money.

I asked this same question to Hilton last year and received the following reply:

'Per our HHonors information, a resort fee is not charged on any type of Reward reservation including a "points and money" reservation.'

However, when checking out of the Pointe Hilton Tapatio Cliffs they had added the resort fee even though I had booked with points and money.

They only removed the resort charge from the bill after I had printed the e-mail from Hilton and showed it to them.

Just to update, I was not charged the fee on a recent points and money stay. At check in I was told the hotel was waving the resort fee because I'm "a Diamond staying on a points reservation". (Just my 2 cents, but I doubt that being dia had anything to do with it)
