The only new info I have is, yes, superior category does exist however there is no explanation as to why it's not in the calendar.

As a gold, one can probably expect an upgrade to a deluxe with view.

I'm still baffled as to how a superior was 460 euro for my dates, the category disappeared, and now the deluxe with view is 345 euro.

Regardless, based on my interaction with the property, this looks to be a very service-oriented hotel and should be an asset to the portfolio.

Good catch! It wasn't there a few hours ago. Queen superior is back in inventory for the entire calendar (where available). Also, good to see the rates are sorted out as well.

sample stay
previous - superior = 460, deluxe = 345
currently - superior = 285, deluxe = 345

This rates are still high for a room without breakfast.

Diamond Members should get a free buffet breakfast at Waldorf Hotels.

I can see no availability for points or P+M rewards to EOY. Am I doing something wrong?

o something wrong
o try checking both tickboxes for a)points b)flex date
then you get view of 14 nights a time and can click to scroll forwards/backwards
minimm is 171k/night, as no base superior rooms bookable (even as cash)
o no P+C since pre-opening 3 months ago for 10days or so. with abov view you can update pulldown to P+C option, but you won't find availability

I'd be happy to "swing on by," but would be limited to lobby and exterior shots... unless they are willing to show me a room.

[LMK, if there is nobody around who is actually staying there that weekend]

I received this offer in an email this morning:

Exclusive Opening Offer

To celebrate the exciting opening of the Waldorf Astoria Amsterdam, our exclusive opening offer includes a complimentary bottle of Champagne, daily breakfast for two and a special Dutch welcome gift. Hilton HHonors members will also receive double HHonors points (per stay) for stays which include one night between Sunday and Wednesday. Offer available until 31 July 2014.

Room rates are crazy there though. I am in Amsterdam from July 4 to 7 booked at the DT Centraal station and looked at rates at the WA after getting this email. The total for all three nights I have booked at the DT after tax is almost 50 euros less than what ONE night before tax is at the WA. I know the DT won't be as luxurious as the DT, but for that price difference....

One review so far on trip advisor. If you go to facebook there is a video with the manager before they finished and they do a peek inside some of the rooms. It's in dutch so I didn't understand it, but saw a very small room (must be a superior) and a suite or two.
