planned Hilton Yangon {MMR} (not yet open)
I have read in March and April 2013 that Hilton will be opening a new hotel in Yangon , Myanmar in 2014.
Does anyone have any update?
Hoping it would be January 1, 2014

Hard to say. The hotel was supposed to open in March 2013 as the Centrepoint Towers Hotel. I don't think it ever did, though.
Early 2014 is still the projected Hilton opening date, but I wouldn't bet on it.
Would be nice to have a Hilton in Yangon. Quite a few chains either in or clamoring to get in to Myanmar.

Hilton Yangon Opens 2014
The site of the hotel will be at Sule Pagoda Road at Merchant Street, right across the street from a huge park and lots of attractions. This isn't a new build...looks like they're renovating a rather new building to be the hotel...but there is still a construction fence around the perimeter and exterior facade work being done as of 17Mar14. Looking in through the windows indicates a lot of disorder still inside...I would be shocked if the hotel opens before 15Jun14.

Hilton Yangon Opens in 4Q14? Don't Think So
I just walked by the construction site yesterday. The building doesn't look any different than it did 12 months ago. There's no way this site is opening in 2014. Recent press releases from Hilton talking about their presence and expansion in Myanmar don't even mention this hotel. If you go to the Hilton website and enter Yangon, Myanmar and enter dates all the way to April 2015, you can't book a room. It wouldn't surprise me if Hilton pulled out of this deal with Centrepoint Tower and the owners...

It looks as though the originally planned Hilton will be the Centrepoint Grand Hotel - still not available to book, at least not via hotels.com.

In the Myanmar Times 15/02/19 there’s an advert for the new Yangon Times City complex including ‘Hilton hotel - 5 star’ it appears the hotel will open in 2022
