Where do you get "Diamond Love"
It seems every review I read lately is how "this property" or "that property" do not show "LOVE" for Diamond Members.
I must have lower standards or have been lucky as I pretty much get a royal treatment at every property I stay at.
So for all the Diamonds out there, what hotels or properties DO you feel you get the "LOVE" you deserve for your status?

About the only US properties I have found that go out of their way for diamonds are the Bentley in Miami, the Hilton Atlanta, and the Washington Hilton.
The Bentley has a great reputation about upgrading diamonds if upgrades are available, in the past they were great about allowing lowest point redemptions to diamonds on point stays. The welcome letter with bottle of wine is a nice touch for a US property, and they give diamonds a full breakfast.
The Hilton Atlanta gives diamonds both a FULL breakfast and lounge access, which doesn't happen much in US properties. The lounge is also pretty peaceful as well and it's nice having access to the coke fountain 24/7.
The Washington Hilton treats diamonds pretty good too. I always get upgraded and they will go as far as to upgrade a diamond to the Presidential suite if it is available. Even before suite upgrades were a diamond benefit, I received suite upgrades there.
Overseas properties seem to treat diamonds a lot better.

I have no complaints about Diamond treatment at U.S. properties. Most of the time, I get upgraded (when the property has upgraded inventory and even at brands where upgrades are not part of the stated benefits) and the Diamond Desk folks I deal with are great.

I've gotten upgrades to Presidential Suites, exec floors, better views, free breakfasts (even sometimes if I have "points" selected as benefit), notes of thanks from staff attached to gift baskets, bar/restaurant gift certs upon check-in, and some favors here and there.
So unless you're euphemism-ing for a front desk clerk that hints you to where to find an in-room massage service in Vegas, I'd say the "Diamond Love" has been shown, sure.
Great D-treatment shout outs for: Waldorf Park City. Hilton Seattle. Hilton San Francisco Financial District. Embassy Suites San Diego. Waldorf Disney/Orlando. The former Hilton Paris. Hilton Garden Inn Eagle, ID. Hilton Squaw Peak Phoenix, Embassy Suites Waikiki.
Big kudos to all these properties.
TDM
PS: Although admittedly the majority of check-ins no one says anything about it or thanks me for my loyalty.
PPS: To clarify, I meant "notes of thanks were attached to the gift baskets", not "the staff was attached to gift baskets". Grammar.

..."the staff was attached to gift baskets".

***I first had written the sentence, "notes from the staff waiting in my room", but realized that phrasing might lead one to think there were staffers just creepily waiting in my room, writing me notes, and that would be a whole 'nuther level of service.

Well, the last time I stayed at Seattle Hilton (it was a few years ago) they upgraded us to the Executive Floor....where our phone rang at 1:00am to inform us that there was a S.W.A.T. team on our floor and to pack up all our bags and be ready to be escorted to another room in 5 minutes because of an "incident" on our floor. I woke my husband and son out of a sound sleep and we rushed to gather our bags. I looked out the peep hole and saw an officer standing outside my room with his gun pointing down the hallway and several other team members running down the hall taking their positions. A few minutes later there was a knock on our door and an officer told me that they believed they had the situation under control and he felt it was safe for us to stay in that room if we wanted. My husband and son were still half asleep and opted to stay where we were. They were both snoozing again in a matter of minutes, but my heart was pounding out of my chest and I just laid there wide awake. For the next four hours I listened to the S.W.A.T. team try to convince "Ted" to come out of his room, or at least answer his room phone or cell phone. Apparently it was a domestic violence incident. I guess I finally dozed off because I didn't hear if they finally talked Ted into coming out, but when we got up for the day and left our room we saw a whole door that had been kicked in (it was some pretty thick real wood) and was leaning against the wall in the hallway. We were shown the Diamond love by being awarded a whopping 1000 bonus points for the inconvenience we incurred that night....

If it's the fault of the hotel - say, they're operating a brothel or stolen-property-fencing operation on the 3rd floor - one has right to be annoyed and 1000 bonus points is pretty meager.
Otherwise, I can agree with other posters: acknowledgment and documented benefit delivery run at 100% (something Starwood never came close to achieving for me).

Totally out of Hilton's control.

We get complimentary early check-in and late check-out, the best room in the property, and lounge access every time.

Am I the only one who thinks awarding 1,000 points (which is basically worthless) is worse than not doing anything at all? I think a nice, personal note from the GM would have gone a lot further, even with no points attached.

Yeah, 1000 points is about $4. Not even worth opening the email.

Doubletree Shanghai Pudong...
Newer hotel, used to be a Sofitel. I used to stay at the Hilton Shanghai, but tried this place about a year and a half ago right after it opened, haven't even looked at the Hilton Shanghai since.
In probably 8 stays, I've never NOT been upgraded to a suite. Never had to ask.
Other than there, not too many places show me much 'Diamond Love'.
