Amusing Virgin Atlantic point credit snafu
 

I did 10 stays at the end of December at 10 different Hilton properties. Yesterday all of the airline miles posted to Virgin Atlantic. Almost. Of the 10 stays, 9 showed up as 1000 points with the appropriate hotel name. One, however, showed up as:

Stay at the Homewood Suites Lawton OK 200

Why is this amusing? Well, the stay was at a Hilton Garden Inn, not a Homewood Suites. And it was in California. Not Oklahoma!

I called the Diamond desk and they initially said it looked fine on their end and to check with VS, but then she changed her mind and opened a case to investigate.

Bonus: On the call the CSR was humming a song as she dug into things. Best hold music I've ever had on a call!

I had something similar to this happen to my account. I had stayed at an HGI in Jacksonville and it showed up as an HI located in South America. After some working from a very helpful HHonors rep from this board and a VS investigation, it was worked out a few weeks later. I also had an issue with the 4th bonus showing up and that was resolved at the same time.

Best of luck getting the issue fixed. If your HHonors account is correct, I would start with VS, as it appears the issue is on their end.

I checked my Virgin Atlantic account today and found the following:

If only they hadn't also reversed their accidental 1000 extra point credit :) At least it all appears sorted now. This was all fixed with the one call to Hhonors.
