I like this place for what it is, at the right price. It is the only Hilton family property in the area (when Hilton Tower Bridge is having a high-rate spell!) and is better than most doubletrees. Even a mediocre lounge is better than none, and the restaurant breakfast is definitely a cut above its peers.

That would be an epic result - I've never had a suite upgrade here!

Arrived at 11-20am, upgraded to a city suite but not ready yet and that’s understandable, it became ready at 1pm ( as digital key was sent to me but we was out exploring the Tower of London so didn’t get back until 4pm.
Swift check in and luggage reclaimed from a very helpful concierge and off to the suite on floor 8
Incredible!, it’s really nice....I’ve taken some pics and will upload when I get time but I’m extremely impressed for a Doubletree, great view over the Tower of London and loads of space, huge bath and shower...two toilets, Nespresso machine and complimentary mini bar with generous offerings!
Huge bed and comfy, I think it’s actually bigger than the suites at Bankside, maybe not as plush but definitely lighter, the sitting room is just big windows and the view is awesome.
I’m almost gutted I have a gig tonight as I just want to sit here with a beer and look out of the window.
I’m going to have a soak in the bath and
Will visit the lounge later ...... will report back!.

BEERS- Stella ( on tap )
SPIRITS - none
WINE - red, and white ( no fizz )
CANAPÉS - calamari ( sweet chilli dip ), nice cheeseboard, artisan breads, crudités and onion tarts.....there is some strawberry cheesecake.
The keycards are not working on entrance but staff are on the ball welcoming guests and checking room numbers, I like it here and I’m so impressed with the suite received.
I know it’s short notice but I have two places available on the guest list for my gig tonight’s the jazz cafe in Camden if any one staying in London fancies coming to see some UK hiphop....pm me!...I will put you on the list......will report back!

As I recall it had a Mac set-up too, or is that my foggy memory? lol
I quite liked the lounge too as I recall.
Hope the gig was good!

Thank you , yes the gig went very well, last show on the current tour so always a banger!.....
Left lounge at 7-45, when I returned at 12-30am the bar was still open , a swift nightcap and then retire, bed ( English king size ) was very comfy indeed.
This morning was a bit of a rush as I had to catch the 9am train to Norwich, it’s 10mins in a cab to Liverpool Street station in a cab from hotel.
I checked out at 8-10am ( express check out ) and was at train station by 8-20, plenty of cabs outside front of hotel.
CONCLUSION- I had a great stay and an unexpected suite upgrade, I will upload some pictures of the suite later and let them do the talking, complimentary mini bar too with beer, soft drinks and spirits!.
I really liked the lounge and Stella on tap is quite novel......service was good too and dragon offered to top up my glass many times.
Breakfast this morning was very nice too and hot plates!, I was a little rushed so didn’t get time to have a proper look, granola and toast for me.
Didn’t get to use gym too so no report there I’m afraid.
I would definitely come back here again and happy to recommend !
ROOM NO - 855
NEXT PLANNED STAY - Hilton Canary Wharf ( Easter Sunday )

King Atrium Suite Executive Lounge Question
I’m looking at booking a weekend stay at the DoubleTree London Tower in the King Atrium Suite which supposedly includes access to the Executive lounge. My question is about breakfast. The options show online that I can book the suite with and without breakfast. If I book it without breakfast, that just means I can’t go to the main restaurant for breakfast but that I could still have it free in the executive lounge, correct?
Also, is there an age limit in the executive lounge? Can my 12 year old daughter come in with me?

Yes,I think you are right ......... I was there last month ( in a king city suite , see review ) , I took breakfast in the restaurant but finished with a coffee in lounge and there was definitely a breakfast spread which I thought looked good.
No age restrictions in lounge.

We just had a lovely stay at this hotel. My wife and 21 year old daughter traveled with me; I wanted to get a room that would accommodate a rollaway for my daughter, and use points. This proved difficult; I contacted several hotels to see if they could accommodate that request, and this hotel came through. They upgraded me, in advance from a "Guest Room" to a "Deluxe Room", to accommodate the rollaway. That also permitted me to use a much lower amount of points, and to use the "5th night free" option. On arrival, the room was ready, and rollaway had already been put in and made up.
That said...even the deluxe room with the rollaway had very little room left to walk or even sit on a chair. But, beggars can't be choosy right?
We made good use of the executive lounge, had breakfast there every day (not sure why we didn't try the restaurant, we just didn't), and it was fine--bacon and eggs available every day, cereal, fruit, pastries. My only complaint, and not limited to this hotel, is that coffee was available only from the espresso machine, which the staff literally had to show every single person how to use, and which also took a long time to use, causing a line (sorry, queue) for coffee every morning. We didn't try the hotel restaurant at all; there's another restaurant that is attached to the hotel but I think not run by it (ie, we weren't given the option to charge the meal to the room); we did try that restaurant for dinner one night, and I would not recommend it. There are many other restaurants within a couple blocks, and the ones we tried were pretty good. We did not use the rooftop bar (though there seemed to be private functions there most nights).
The staff was friendly and helpful. The room was clean and served the purpose. I did not use the exercise room, but my wife did and enjoyed it.
The location is great. A couple blocks from the Tower and the adjacent tube stop. It's on a side street, so there wasn't a lot of hustle and bustle around the hotel. There are a couple pubs that were pretty loud (music and crowds), but the noise stopped promptly at 11 pm every night.
All in all, a very favorable impression, I'd certainly stay there again.

Sat in the restaurant here having breakfast. Really good stay so far. Admittedly it was a Sunday but this was a third of the price of Bankside. So much more welcoming too. Got upgraded to exec room as a gold on arrival (no upgrades showing on app so held my nerve on OLCI for once). Time for nice glass of well chilled white and hot snack before retiring to the roof top bar. Good vibe and cocktails although I am def not trendy enough! Slept well. Another warm welcome at breakfast and promptly brought coffee. Apparently a la carte complimentary for golds here but I just went for buffet. Would definitely return.
