I saw that on the website. I'm there from the 24th for 3 nights so hoping the hammering is all done and it's just the final lick of paint. The Waldorf wasn't available for my dates, nor the MH so have opted for my 3rd choice. The BTS looks just a 5 minute stroll. The points are borderline vs cash for me so whilst not the best usage, this is our only splurge in the year so I'll take the gamble as to whether they get devalued again in the meantime.

I've stayed at the Conrad twice, very nice property and it is an easy walk to the station, not worth waiting for the shuttle. I'll be in Bangkok at the same time and originally had a reservation for the Conrad, they must be very busy on those days as only standard rooms are now left so no chance for an upgrade and I'm assuming the lounge will be crazy. Am now staying at the Hilton Sukhumvit this time.

North would be great.

Where did you get info about a property in Bangtao? You mention the Patong development (to be Doubletree Banthai) which should be opening fairly soon.

I drove past the construction site that will be HGI Bangtao just a few weeks back. Early stages of construction well underway. It's close to Laguna & Boat Avenue, roughly 10 mins or so drive from the beach. I suspect 2020 is very achievable.

This used to be a non-chain Majestic Grande Sukhumvit Hotel on the same Soi as the JW Marriott for the past 15+ years.

Most people call that area NANA. I guess Hilton doesn't want to be associated with that part of the city.

One of the leading hospitality groups in the world, Hilton Hotels and Resorts has two properties in the Phuket development pipeline.

Newly signed is the 177-key Hilton Garden Inn Phuket Bang Tao which is located near the entrance of Laguna Phuket.

There is also the 300-key Hilton Patong Resort in Kalim underway, which is targeting to come online in 2019.

I am spending 2 nights in Bangkok in June and have 3 hotel options I see. Millennium Hilton is out because of the location.

Conrad, I stayed there before but understand their lounge offering is going down and I find the walk to the BTS inconvenient.
Hilton Sukhumvit, Never stayed here and the reviews seem a bit limited. I assume the property has a lounge?
DoubleTree Sukhiumvit, Never stayed here. I understand there is no lounge but a diamond happy hour at the poool?

The Sukhumvit properties seem quite good with regards to BTS location. They are both similarly priced.. which is nicer?

Any sparkling wine in the lounge offer in any of these properties??

Thanks,
Globalist

They are sister properties and connected at ground level. The Hilton is higher end. It has a lounge with a small outdoor area.

They are okay for BTS, certainly better than Conrad, but not so convenient as the various properties (not Hilton) that are actually connected to the skywalk.

After a few stays at the Conrad, my last stay was at the Hilton Sukhumvit and I really liked it. Decided to stay there
after seeing that the Conrad was sold out with no real probability of an upgrade. Fantastic lounge, breakfast and a very nice suite upgrade will keep me coming back.

Just beware they are building a new tall building beside the Hilton and it is noisy. Make sure you get a room facing away from the BTS station side.

I stayed at both Doubletree and Hilton Sukhumvit two weeks ago. No complaints from either. As diamond I got upgrades at both properties with a standard room booked. The upgrade at the doubletree was a one bedroom suite which was nice. The upgrade at the hilton was an upgrade to an exec room.

I actually like the idea of drinks around the pool at the Doubletree. More relaxed than a lounge. But everyone has their own preference about these sort of things. The lounge at the hilton was fine, but nothing special. But I don't travel to BKK to eat a free evening meal cobbled together from bits and pieces in a lounge like some people.
