I'm looking for a fine Hilton property near YUL.

While searching the forum and the wiki I noticed that the DoubleTree Montreal Airport was not listed.

Is this a new hotel? Anyone been there recently?

Stan

Brand new. I was going to stay there on my next trip in, except they charge (as it is an airport hotel) $20 for parking. Hilton Laval it is for me!

Thanks for your feedback. Hilton Laval looks nice too, but I need something close to YUL for one night only.
If no review has been posted before April next year, I'll try to upload some pictures and feedback.

Stan

New Doubletree in Montreal, looks like a Hyatt rebrand.

It changed from Hyatt on the 19th of December. I spend about a week there every month.

Think 1970's era downtown hotel that's been updated a few times (most recently in the past year). I heard drilling in the rooms when I checked out on the 19th, so it's possible they did a quick minor brand-related update in the rooms in the past couple of weeks.

I doubt it's suitable for the OP's needs -- too far from / too much hassle to get to YUL.

The hotel is part of the Complexe Desjardins (3 office towers and a small shopping mall), where a nice underground garage runs C$21/day. Cabs and the 747 bus would be the mass transit options to get to YUL. One block from Chinatown, across the street from Place des Arts, and underground access to a couple of Metro stops.

I think the staff at the Hilton Garden Inn, a couple blocks north of there, is better, but the GI's garage is cramped, the dining options in the immediate area are a little more limited, and the GI's garage not connected to the underground city (a distinct disadvantage at this time of year).
