Arrow Hilton Garden Inn Rome Claridge {ITA}

Short translation from italian: Hilton Garden Inn Rome Claridge expected by spring 2012

New Rome Property- HGI Claridge

I haven't seen this posted anywhere else. Due to open in March, 2012. As The Claridge Hotel it has mostly good ratings on tripadvisor. Location is a little off the beaten path, about 10 blocks North of Galleria Borghese, but there is a bus stop right in front of hotel that will take you to a Metro station, and a tram that goes over to Piazza del Risorgimento, near the Vatican. Sometimes it's nice to be in a more residential and have the benefits of markets close by, and non-touristy restaurants. It's a category 4 redemption level for Hhonors points, making it even a little more attractive. It will be interesting to see how it does after the re-brand.

I noticed this a few days ago as well. The category had not yet been listed on the website, and I am glad to hear it is only cat 4! It's good to know there is now a non W=A option in central Rome. I was planning to burn my points at the Cavalieri for a trip in 2013, but will save the difference and opt for the Claridge instead. ^

It appears to be in a more ideal location than the Cav, and since it is about a 20 min walk from the Marriott and Starwood properties on the Veneto, that are at or near the high end of their respective redemptions, if this place is a Category 4, it is a steal!

Given that the Cavalieri has pretty much been abandoned by Diamonds, this could be a welcome addition!

I may try this one as well. Very good location (especially compared with Cavalieri), and at a level 4 a bargain.

This looks great, but IMHO not really a central location. May consider it if bootable with AA miles.

Thanks to the OP for posting this info. It is nice to have an alternative to the Cavalieri, if the HGI Rome offers affordable rates.

Checked with Hilton UK and was told the date they will commence as a Hilton would be 30th March. This was the response:

"The hotel to which you are referring is currently scheduled to open on March 30th, 2012. Our office does not have local contact information for this property at this time.

Please note that this hotel will soon be joining the Hilton Worldwide Portfolio of Brands but is not yet accepting reservations. For immediate assistance, please contact the hotel directly by dialing 39-06-845441"

No, the April date is what is now on the Hilton website, it must have just recently been updated.

This property is now live on the Hilton webpage. "This hotel will soon be joining the Hilton Worldwide Portfolio of Brands and is presently accepting reservations for arrival April 19, 2012 and beyond." I just made an awards reservation for May at 30,000 points a night.
