Why do difficult to make an award reservation?
I can't find any link to show award availability on line, so I call HHonors.
They ask a half dozen questions (besides the necessary ones) to find if there are rooms: 1) Name 2) Address 3) Hhonors number 4) Smoking 5) Children 6) Are you part of a convention? 7) Are you with a group? Shouldn't the agent just need the location and date of my arrival? Why is all the other info necessary? They only need it if there is space! |
I agree: I believe they should wait with all those ??s until they find availability that interests you.

I agree, those questions are horribly annoying. But if you are politely assertive, I think you can cut through the B.S.
Start out with, "I'd like to check award availability at ________ on the following dates." When they start with the list of questions interrupt with, "I'm not sure I even want to make a reservation, I just want to know availability. Can't you just look that up?" (I'm almost positive they can.) Be insistent. If enough of us get assertive, perhaps HH will modify the script or officially give the reps a little more leeway. And like the voices on the line at so many toll free numbers, IME service varies widely: from "this must not be a drug free workplace" to "would you send me your resume". The latter is like hitting the jackpot at Vegas, and thats when I usually ask for a supervisor to pay a compliment, relate my bad experiences with the others, and let the sup. know they should keep so-and-so satisfied. Now, this all could be solved with online reward booking, couldn't it? Imagine the cost savings, Hilton! [This message has been edited by Rut Dog (edited 11-19-2002).] |
I get a different treatment. Any time I call any Hilton 800 number about anything they wanna know my pin number. D*A*M*N annoying.

Huh? I must be getting lucky because I don't have any problem just getting availability. I just ask "are you showing availablity for XXX".
I NEVER give them my pin. I frankly do not trust them! I just get my awards certs online. ------------------ Randy ------------------------- HH Gold; WN CP |

What happens if I am part of a convention or with a group and the convention is not at the their property? AndrewM |
