Converting HHonors Points?

I currently have almost 70K HHonors points and would like to get these into a different rewards program.

Is there anyway I can convert these to either Delta Skymiles, or Amex Points?

I am not familiar on the methods of doing this!

Looks like they don't have very many options among airlines. No Delta.

I do not believe that Hilton points can be exchanged for Delta Skymiles. Even converting the Hilton points to AA miles you would only get about 10,000 miles for the 70,000 points. The value of the points may be much greater if you keep them as HHonors points and used the nights. If you still want to transfer the points, go to the HHonors web site and go to "reward exchange", this will get you to the various transfer possibilities.

Hope this helps.

No, not anymore. The link I posted above shows the list of all airline programs currently participating in the Reward Exchange.

First off, you can also exchange for amex
EDIT: nevermind, you can't

And for completeness, consider this:

10,000 HH points = 1,500 miles in participating programs

but also

10,000 HH points = 1,500 Amtrak points

and Amtrak points can be converted 1:1, in 5,000 point increments, to CO, UA, or YX (Midwest Express), and those can be used, respectively, on DL and NW, US, and AA.

http://www.amtrakguestrewards.com/in...wards=Airlines

But all you're getting for 70,000 points, in any situation, is about 10,000 miles. That doesn't seem like a very good trade to me.

I think the HHonors Airline Rewards are an oft neglected opportunity, especially the 40,000 point UA/AS/YX companion fare.

And if you have 10,000 orphan miles in a participating airline, you can top off your HHonors account to 90K, getting yourself a RT domestic (non companio) on AC, AS, HP, or WN.

I guess my really nagging question is... can't you find a hotel you want to stay in?

70K can go a long way in hotel rooms if you know how to play your points.

No, you can't. It only works in the opposite direction - you can transfer from AmEx MR into HH.

I love watching it when Eugene and Rut Dog have a disagreement. It's like watching the gods decide the fate of mankind.

Thanks for the kudos, BigLar, but I have to tip my hat to my friend Eugene. He has been 100% correct whenever we've "disagreed". That is, I have been 100% wrong whenever he has contradicted me on FlyerTalk (present thread notwithstanding), and for that I'm very grateful.

And we've only ever diverged in opinion when it comes to tactics, and even then only in a matter of degree -- and believe me, I listen closely to all his suggestions.

Speaking of which....

What is the best way to maximize AMEX MR points to HH points. Now that Delta and Continental are off the list. I can't seem to find a way to get more points. In Canada, 1 MR = 0.9 HH.

One good option is going through Hawaiian. Not sure about Canada, but in the US 5K AmEx MR points --> 5K Hawaiian Miles --> 10K HH points.

Two other airlines participate in both AmEx Membership Rewards and HH Reward Exchange: Virgin and Mexicana, but going through Virgin yields 50% less HH points, and Mexicana limits transfer to HH strictly to those miles earned by flying.

I'm not sure how long this has been around, but for those of you who want to combine your points to fly sooner, check this out.
