Ok, so here goes. After 20 years of Starwood I just sold my company to a global firm that doesn't use Starwood. I have now got a shiny new HH Gold card as a status match for my plat elite. I need to stay in central London for 2 nights this week near trafalgar sq. The options I am considering are the Hilton Trafalgar and the Waldorf. Is it really an either / or scenario or is one much better than the other? Replies gratefully received!

Well I haven't stayed in either in the last week, so I haven't a clue about things like the breakfast offering. It's not entirely clear what you are looking for but as a general point the Trafalgar is a Curio so essentially a boutique hotel, not that big, whereas the Waldorf is a large Hilton and so is supposed to match that particular brand standard. The rooms are usually larger than the Trafalgar but the Trafalgar's rooms have been more recently updated. If you wanted an upmarket venue then you still best consider the Conrad or Bankside. But it really depends on what you are looking for.

London best hotel for 3 night leisure stay
Considering the Conrad or the Biltmore for a 3 night leisure stay in November (yes I realize the weather won't be ideal). It's on certificates so price doesn't matter. Open to any other suggestions as well.
Thanks for any information you can provide!

For me that would be the Waldorf as I feel its the best all rounder but most importantly it has a great spa to relax in after poking around London and before going to the executive lounge ( which is also very nice too ).

I stay at the Conrad all the time for leisure and love it. Great service, location is nice - whether you want to head in to Chelsea, or into Mayfair / West End.
Probably come down to personal preference, but I like the Conrad as it isn’t somewhere I’d typically stay for business when in London (location wouldn’t work for that, plus it isn’t on our approved list!).

London's a big city. I'd make sure that location is right for your 3 day stay. What kind of leisure will you do? American style tourism, or are you more of a London local? Do you have particular interests?

If you're going to be taking taxis (or Ubers) everywhere then local tube lines don't matter and the Biltmore is in a globally significant square km of the best restaurants and bars (expensive ones!) and so it's a nicer area to come back to compared to where the Conrad is which is a bit of a meh area full of Govt buildings, Embassies and Pret a Mangers. I've not stayed at the Biltmore, but like for like I'm guessing the Conrad is the better hotel.
I would not do Bankside or other hotels further north or East as it seems like your interest would likely be primarily further west.

Assuming you will be comfortable using the underground system, the Conrad is your best option as it has much better connections in the West End. It's also particularly easily walkable to Buckingham Palace, Big Ben, the London Eye, St James and Green Park, Westminster Cathedral, Downing St, Westminster pier for boats, etc (both are, but the Conrad more so).

Very disappointing to see the return of advance purchase rate / no cancellation policies across all London properties. I personally want fellow guests to have every chance to change their plans if they are "pinged" by the app or instructed to isolate. Also makes the "my dates are flexible" feature far less useful.

Agreed I had cut back on travel some even before the pandemic but was going to London 10 or so times a year for many years. I typically stayed at a Hilton or Holiday Inn property depending on weekend rates that I could get. The last time my wife and I were there, in fall of 2019 we stayed at the Park Lane for the first time and loved it. The club was very nice and we had nice views from our room amd a great view from the upstairs bar. The staff was also great. All around very pleased.

Hoping for a 2 night stay next week when things open assuming I can get my ducks in a row and everything doesnt become cost prohibitive with the tests and everything. Would I be correct that the Conrad is my best bet? Looking for decent treatment of diamonds, walkable location, open lounge that is serving alcohol at night, and just an overall good hotel. Price is only 160 per night which I feel like is cheap for this property.
If not any other suggestions? Only other Hilton Ive stayed at was Canary Wharf which was fine but the lounge isnt open yet.
