[QUOTE=sdsearch; Also, do you get HH stay credit when using AA miles to book a HH hotel? With HH giving stay credit for award stays (including points+cash), some people need their award stays to count for HH stays in order to (re)qualify for the HH status they want.[/QUOTE]

No credit when booking through a third party site.
If you want credit you would have to book directly through hilton.

LOL, too true. I that's what it takes to increase HH point valuation, I guess we haven't really gotten that far afterall, lol.

Exactly. Which is why I don't see why peple with status (and especially ones not having a trivial time keeping it without every stay counting) would be interested in using AA miles for HH stays instead of transferring AA miles to HH points, no matte what the valuation is.

But it turns out the person I was writing that question (that you answered) to is HH Silver, and if they are never above HH Silver anyway, I guess that explains why they might be interested in using AA miles for HH hotels, even though I (who am intrested in stay credit) wouldn't find AA miels for HH hotel bookings a good substitute for transferring AA to HH and then booking with HH points.

Oh Man....Now I'll have to redeem my AA miles for flights. Or hotels. Or car rentals.

You can get really good AA redemption via partners like Etihad and Cathay. You can also always trade via CC if you'd rather have the HH
