Hilton Focus Group

Was anyone else on the board asked to participate in this? I was offered $200 plus two nights in a Hilton anywhere to spend a day at the Drake in Chicago sharing my thought and opinions. I would have jumped at this in a minute but I'm going to be out of town. What a disappointment.

I would have participated in this. I have 13 stays so far this year spread amongst Hilton, Hampton, Embassy, Doubletree and Homewood Suites. I will probably end the year with just over 30 stays.

Iowuld be happy to do this. maybe they will contact me.

Wonder if they're recruiting only locals so as to not have to provide transportation?

ILuvParis Jun 22, 2001 6:48 am

It could be "locals." Actually, tho, it is Hilton International that is doing this. It is in about 5 or so major cities around the world, Chicago and London, for sure.

Oh, darn! I'm local and would love to have helped further the cause of marketing research! http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/wink.gif

But alas, I have never stayed a Hilton property overseas.......which is probably why I didn't receive an invite.

Never was asked, but if I was I'd probably enjoy attending it if I could schedule it! http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/smile.gif

why dont they just read FT? too much noise i guess. but if they were smart, they could create an ID, and start threads on their topics of interest. "does anyone like the new plastic sheets at the detroit hilton?" "is a 4oz bag of cheez-its a proper recognition of diamond status, or do you prefer the 6oz bag?" http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/biggrin.gif

I have done this about a half dozen times for Hilton Marriott and Delta in Los Angeles. It appears from the groups that I have been in, that they only call locals as a local firm is hired to run the group. Once you get on the list they seem to call you over and over and I keep accepting over and over. A win win if you ask me

homey,

sorry to go off-thread, but have you stayed at the detroit hilton? the one at the airport? how is it? i have a visit scheduled in july. thanks in advance.

re: detroit hilton

i havent, but i have read comments from people complaining about the crappy service at one of the detroit hiltons. its a rough city, so take everything with a grain of salt. http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/smile.gif try searching for comments, you might find some info.

I stayed there last December. It is an all suites hotel. I found it rather nice. The atmosphere was dead as it was a snowy, cold December night. They will pick you up from the airport at no charge.

That would be the Hilton in Novi, MI and I was the one who started the thread. Honestly I haven't heard much good about any hotels in the Detroit area though.

FWIW.
