And again...
Sorry I didn't pick up the last post. Since the golf course is still not open (and it doesn't look like it will happen any year soon) the hotel is closed for winter. The good news is that the rates for this year have come down to last year's level and with the weakness of the Turkish Lira they cost less Ł or $.
So I have rebooked. Third year running a week in October. Two rooms booked again. Both years they have given a suite the size of two rooms but maybe with the new Diamond benefits they might this time give a suite AND a room which is what I have paid for this year and the last two. To be honest two rooms are pretty spacious anyway but having toured the proper suites I can but hope in the new definition they are "standard suites" and available!!!
No fears on the food and all inclusive having tried and tested twice now....

Closing
The hotel is closing from 1st November until the beginning of April. The golf course is still not scheduled to open until 2014.
My stay was overall of a very high quality again. The way they deal with HHonors Diamonds is inconsistent but the rest of the hotel makes up for that. In the world I would reckon Hilton Dalaman is easily the best value resort hotel you will get for your dollar.

Upgrade
To be fair they said they were full. Not so sure. Maybe they had already closed down some suites and upgraded rooms before the seasonal closure.

One for May and one in July.. Booked Deluxe Seaview so hoping for a better upgrade as a diamond this time..
They are rather stingy with their upgrades to the suites .
But the price they charge is getting higher year after year, but the hotel offers great value for money and the all inclusive is improving (now also including premium branded spirits etc..)
Only negative is they charge for the a la carte restaurants, given the price of the resort this should be included (during high season no room can be had under 250 euro.. )

I'm thinking of making a booking here for June - 2 nights with points (70,000 a night if anyone is interested) and 5 nights cash (620 TRY a night) which is a good deal compared to booking with a tour operator.
Hoping for at least a 1 category upgrade but guessing from what people are saying on here that's a faint hope!
The child policy is very confusing and with the hotel being closed the American guy on the hilton reservations line only had the same info as the website.
Does anyone have experience with bringing a <1 year old? I've also got a 3 year old who I know will be free staying with us but I'm assuming the additional child cost won't be applied to the baby!

All booked in, mixture of points and cash bookings, will ring the hotel to combine when they open up (plus request an upgrade of course!)
Note the rates and points amounts do ramp up at this place per month or so, I had to do some maths to work out if I was better using points at the beginning or end of my booking.
Will report back in June!
