ANY Cat1 or Cat2 properties?

Are there any Category 1 or Cat 2 left out there? Anywhere?

Yes, there's still a few, mainly Hampton Inns and a few Homewood Suites in the US. Not sure about other countries, but I doubt it. You can look up the hotels by each category in each country on the Hhonors site at:

Fun to look - one Cat 2 in my home state of NJ (Hampton Inn - Clinton).

Closest Cat 1 I could find was in Ohio.

I think there is much less Cat 1 & 2 now. Just spent one night at Hampden Inn in Moline, Illinois which was a Cat 1 hotel with 10,000 point redemption level, now it is Cat 3 and 25,000 redemption level!

Does anyone have a list yet of international Cat. 1, 2, and 3 properties? :)Thanks!

No Cat 1's in Florida, and only a handful of 2's.

Cat 6?

It is interesting to look over the Cat 6 list for some of my recent stays...all hotels are not created equal in my view of points redemption!

Hilton Buenos Aires (beautiful)
Hilton Tokyo
Hilton London Olympia (What a dump! Hair balls the size of small sheep bubbling up into my bathtub overnight and woke up with a foot of foul dirty water in the tub. The front desk clerk replied "pity" when I complained. I found another hotel.)
Embassy Suites Anaheim
Embassy Suites Las Vegas Convention Center (great staff but getting a bit worn)
Hampton Inn Virginia Beach (Hamptons should never be Cat 6, especially this one)

Hilton Heathrow is a 7?

Batang Ai Longhouse Resort in Malaysia is Cat 2, 12,500 points/night. Any other intl cat 1 or 2 properties?

As a HHonors Diamond member I'm disappointed by the devaluation. I was looking at a Hampton in KC that was 20,000 points in December, which is now 30,000 points. Another property I stayed at was 30,000 is now 50,000.

My allegiance may be changing this year. With the rollover I'm halfway to Platinum already on Marriott.
