Hilton Colombo: Cat 2 --> Cat 3.
Hilton Colombo Residence: Cat 2 --> Cat 3.
A couple of years ago, both properties were Cat 1.

Palmer House Hilton (Chicago) going from a cat 5 to a cat 7! That's ridiculous.
Conrad and Drake in Chicago are going from a cat 6 to a cat 7.

This thread so far confirms what alot of people doubted in the original thread on the impending devaluation....that some hotels will even see a 2 category increase! I still do not understand why they don't just publish the list of the changes like the HHRep originally stated. Hilton's response to this impending increase and their lack of being open and upfront about this really rubs me the wrong way. I bet if the person that originally accidently found the web page that brought this to our attention had never actually found this page we would not have gotten any advanced warning from HH.

Doubletree Guest Suites Boston (Soldiers Field Road) will jump two, from Cat 4 to Cat 6
this is too bad, because it has been a good deal at 30,000 points (less than the downtown Doubletree (which is not as nice) and less than or equal to a couple Hampton Inns.

This devaluation also has me reflecting on how little the categories correspond to the brand. Of course, the categories reflect the cost of accommodations in a given market, but you would think there would be a similar correlation to brand.
I have a hard time justifying how a large number of Hamptons, HGIs, Hiltons, and Doubletrees in some U.S. and European markets could/will have the same or higher category than signficantly more stellar properties elsewhere in the world. I'm afraid to mention which ones in case Hilton realizes they didn't devalue the program as much as they could have done.

Hilton Longboat Key going from a Category 6 to a Category 7. My annual GLON13 is going from 370,000 to 487,500. That's just ridiculous.
