Can I beat the hertz system with this?
 
I arrive in Atlanta at 16.30hrs on Monday Jan 12th. Want to book a hertz one way ATL-SSI. The Hertz system (UK hertz) priced it out at $109. But when I checked the day before it was only $35.45. So I made a reservation at 23.45hrs on the Sunday the day before I arrive. So can I call hertz on the Sunday, tell them my flight is delayed to 16.30hrs the next day and get the $35.45 rate i have reserved at. Or will they just reprice to the $109 quoted for the next day. The hertz site says if delayed call them. I was wondering if by calling them they can retain the quoted rate. Of course if you do it yourself it reprices to the higher rate.

I'm afraid the rate is only valid for date reserved, rate cannot be held over until next day. The rate changes as soon as the next day starts, yes Hertz say call if delayed so we know you are not just a 'no-show'.
So you won't be able to 'beat the system' on this.
I know from experience that people who have tried to beat the system and have been caught end up getting charged the full 'rack' rate.
