Cannot enter flight # in res

Last night I made a Hertz reservation at their website and there was no field for entering my flight number. There was the usual drop down list for choosing the airline. Once the reservation was confirmed I received a message from Hertz reminding me that it was in my interest to include my flight number in the reservation.
I sent Hertz an email (contact us) and described the problem.
I just received another email from Hertz and they acknowledged the problem and said it was temporary.
If you can't enter your flight number at the Hertz website this may be the reason.

Is there a benefit to adding flight information to your Hertz Res? I actually stopped putting my flight information. What's important now is the start time of the resrevation.

I've actually had a manager admit that his office does not monitor flights.

It's probably wise to put it in for a smaller airport/franchise location. For 24-hour corporate stores it probably doesn't really matter. I put mine in when flying in just for good measure. It takes about 10 seconds to ensure I have grounds for them to hold a car for me.

In the UK if your flight is delayed and is not du to land until after closing time, then staff in the airport location can monitor to see when your new ETA is and ensure they are there to meet you on arrival.
Hertz UK procedure is that as long as there is a flight number in your reservation then someone will be there to meet you.
Also it helps gauge the amount of customers to expect when flights land and hopefully staff accordingly.

Hope this helps ^

I always fill in the flight information. My flights tend to be either ten minutes early or three hours late so I like to think the information is available if Hertz is monitoring. I also call the Hertz Gold number to advise them of reroutings and delays.
