Question about status....
 

I've logged into the website and it say's i'm a five start member and YTD say's 10 rentals. I read through when qualification starts and ends:

Qualification periods begin on January 1 and run through December 31, of every year. All qualified rentals within that time frame will be tallied and new membership cards issued the following April.

So I assume it means I already have 10 rentals. Now my Gold Card expires either this month or next month, do I still have to pay the membership fee again? Does this also mean I am Five Star through 2009? Or just the remainder of 2008?

Almost nobody pays the membership fee and it's my understanding that once you are gold you don't have to pay it again.

I already got the e-mail that says to continue using the Five Star card (they're not issuing new ones for anyone who is already 5*). Presumably to save on postage.

If you're at 10 rentals this year already, Tummy, don't even worry about about losing "status". Status with Hertz really doesn't seem to mean much nor add significant bennies.

Well I'm not exactly sure when I turned 5*, I had 20+ rentals last year, but never really saw anything in the mail as far as a new card goes. I guess I'll just keep going until they something.....
