Rental Car Classes

I frequently see people here refer to an "A" or a "YC" or something when referring to cars instead of the "Toyota Corolla or similar" I'm used to seeing from Hertz. Would someone mind listing all these letter designations or at least point me to the thread where it all is contained? Also, is there a list of cars that fit into each letter category? Thanks.

I believe:

A = Economy ----> YA Specialty Economy
B = Compact-----> YB Specialty Compact
C = Midsize------> YC Specialty Midsize
D = Standard----> YD Specialty Standard
E = I think it a Fusion and some others
F = Fullsize------> YF Speciality Fullsize
G = Premium
H = Premium Elite
Q = Midsize SUV
T = Super SUV

and so on....

All the Y is XM, sunroof, leather, or something extra like that...

Q = Small SUV
L = Midsive SUV
I = Luxury
R = Minivan
U = Convertible

Sanosuke!

The Prestige type of cars includes many different car classes, such as T4, V, X, I, P...etc

To follow up on the original question, where on Hertz.com is the description of these car classes?

Very seldom does Hertz.com reference those class codes. If you look at your booking it might be in there somewhere, and with the printouts when you pick the car up it will mention the class code, as will the keychain. But there's no list. The car descriptions only use the names of the classes, not the codes. Which is why stuff like this comes up here every so often.

Maybe one of those counter reps who just posted can get us a current list.

Best you can get is a hodpodge of what people have put together... Plus, I'm driving a G6 W/sunroof, listed as a YD, recently a G6 w/o a sunroof was a YC. Go figure.

Well, that is what I'm trying to do here.

As for you, don't you have an NW forum to be trolling??? ;) I do have elite status in other programs, you know, even if it is only Gold. :D
