5 * Gold not valid in EU?
 

Whats up with that? I'm a 5 star Gold in Us, but website says not valid in Paris. Any suggestions? I need my free upgrade!

5 stars aren't enough for Parisians :D

While it's not technically "valid" for Europe, I have gotten upgrades and excellent service about the same amount as I have in the US (that is, most of the time).

If you need the upgrade, then you should book the higher group car since an upgrade isn't guaranteed for 5*

Have you filled in the request to have gold service in areas other than North America? Not having done so would explain why you are not entitled to gold service in Paris. Contact customer service and request that your Gold Membership eligability be extended worldwide

I'm not even sure it's valid in the US. Some of the people posting here have noted they never seem to get upgrades, while others have no problem. As far as I can tell, I think I'm somewhere around 50/50, though I don't pay attention to it that often.
