NeverLost in Canada?

I'm picking up a car at JFK for an upcoming trip that will take me to Montreal before returning the car at BTV (much cheaper than returning at YUL).

Do I need to do anything to ensure that the Neverlost will also work in Canada? Do I need to tell Hertz that I'm taking the vehicle to Canada? Suggestions welcome. Thanks!

I've taken a car from YUL to JFK and back with neverlost and haven't had any problems, although some maps could be a little updated (because of new roads built and etc) either way, if you need help while in YUL, I'm a local, so feel free to pm me.

Did the same with a car from EWR -- drove into Montreal, but returned back to EWR. No major problems with roads -- the system switched automatically to Canadian directions (and metric units of measure) after I crossed the border...

If you are an American you are ok. But there is a restriction against a Canadian driving into Canada with a US rental car. Neverlost will work just fine along I95 and into the greater Montreal area.

Yup and many other places on FT. I find out a couple of years ago when I wanted to rent a car in Alaska and drive to the Yukon...

I was trying to provide the OP with the short version should by remote chance they be Canadian. As you are from the YVR/SEA area I'm sure you are well versed in this silly policy.

And you did very succinctly. ^

I provided the link because it provides a little more info and reveals that a lot of Canadians are unaware of this. This may not impact the OP but it could bite a Canadian resident.

Cheers,
Fredd
